350°F Walk-In Oven used for Baking Carbon Fiber
LEWCO, Inc. was recently chosen to design and manufacture a 350°F electrically heated batch oven that is used for baking carbon fiber materials. The enhanced duty walk-in oven features a top mounted heater-box with 144kW of heat capacity. The oven is equipped with (2) 30,000 CFM high-efficiency circulation fans delivering dual airflow and providing uniform heat throughout the workspace. The airflow volume of the oven is designed to meet strict temperature uniformity requirements. The size and placement of the air supply duct are vital in providing proper airflow and heat transfer. LEWCO’s Enhanced Duty Walk-In Ovens guarantee temperature uniformity of +/-10°F throughout the qualified zone.
Included with the oven are (3) ½” NPT through wall fittings for vacuum connections and (3) type “J” thermocouple jacks inside the oven. All jacks are hard wired to the controller for data logging. Each vacuum port includes quick disconnect fittings on the interior.
The oven controls include a Eurotherm Nanodac temperature controller and redundant high-limit controller. This controller has a multitude of capabilities including a serial communication port and can store up to (99) different ramp/ soak recipes. The controller will continuously record the process temperature, plus (3) additional thermocouples inputs. All the data can be downloaded via Ethernet or local USB.
