Natural Gas Conveyor Ovens with Balanced Weave Belt
LEWCO, Inc. recently delivered a pair of conveyor ovens to an automotive industry supplier. These ovens, designed to cure thread locking on various sized hardware, are rated for a maximum operating temperature of 500°F.
Each oven features:
- Powerful Heating: A single, direct-fired, natural gas heater box with a capacity of 1,000,000 BTU’s/Hr.
- Efficient Airflow: A 10,000 CFM circulation fan and a 500 CFM exhaust fan, both equipped with air proving circuits interlocked with the heating systems. The high-efficiency circulation fans and integral plenums deliver uniform “Vertical Down” airflow throughout the ovens’ workspace.
- Custom Conveyor: A non-standard balanced weave belt with side drive chains, specifically selected to handle small parts.

- PLC and HMI: A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and touchscreen HMI provide a single interface for temperature, safety, and motion control.
- Precise Temperature Control: A Eurotherm 3216 temperature controller with a redundant high-limit controller ensures accurate temperature regulation and over-temperature protection.
- Low-Maintenance Operation: Gravity feed auto-lubrication systems extend conveyor belt life and minimize maintenance frequency.
