High Quality Products Lead to Repeat Customers

One specific customer, a tier-one automotive supplier, recently received a shipment of their tenth custom annealing oven from LEWCO while also placing an order for another one.

The oven is rated for a maximum temperature of 250°F and is used to anneal various plastic part assemblies.  The process relieves stresses created during welding to avoid cracking in the future. The parts soak at 240^oF for approximately 45 minutes, depending on the variable index cycle.  The equipment includes a cooling zone to bring the parts down to safe handling temperature prior to unloading.

Precision conveyor controls are required since a robot is used to load parts into the conveyor trays.  The trays must stop in the same location for every index, in order for the robot to properly place the parts.  Multiple parts are loaded on each tray, so sensors are used to alert the robot of empty spaces.  This maximizes efficiency by making sure all the trays are full through each cycle.

This particular customer operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they require their equipment to do the same, with little or no downtime.  The previous ovens supplied by LEWCO meet these continuous operation expectations with no downtime.  That is the main reason they keep coming back for additional purchases, says Lou Schaefer, Sales Manager – Oven Products.
