Industrial Oven is Designed for Additional Safety Needs

One of the largest specialty metals producers in the world came to LEWCO for help with their process heating application. Designed and manufactured by LEWCO, the solution became a large 800°F, batch oven, which will dry a kerosene-like substance from tungsten sludge contained in 55-gallon drums. These ovens can process up to 5 pallets (20 drums) per batch. Two notable safety features include an auxiliary man door for emergency escape through the guillotine door and an LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) monitoring system that will automatically turn off the heat if an alarm set-point is ever reached. Additionally, we worked closely with the customer’s pollution control supplier to integrate the oven controls with the scrubber controls.
